Inhalt:
Wie aus ‚Bio‘ Chemie wird
Arbeitet die Raffinerie der Zukunft ohne Erdöl?

Beim internationalen Symposium .Biorefinica 2004. im Zentrum für Umweltkommunikation
(ZUK/Osnabrück) der Deutschen Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU) beschäftigten sich rund
140 Experten aus Wissenschaft, Politik und Wirtschaft Ende Oktober mit der Frage, welche
Voraussetzungen für die stoffliche Nutzung von nachwachsenden Rohstoffen nötig sind und
wie eine gezielte Verarbeitung in Bioraffinerien verwirklicht werden kann.
Neben der Bestandsaufnahme der deutschen Aktivitäten auf diesem Gebiet diskutierten die
Fachleute über Chancen und Erfordernisse für eine nachhaltige Chemie- und Stoffwirtschaft
in Europa. Neben der DBU hatten das Forschungsinstitut BIOPOS, die DECHEMA (Gesellschaft
für Chemische Technik und Biotechnologie) sowie die Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker
(GDCh) zu der zweitägigen Veranstaltung eingeladen.
